At
the request of Curator Mary Ann Kearns, Dorothy Simpson Krause
created the images for the Major Arcana of the Millennium Tarot
in 1994. Photographer Jan Doucette shared photographs of performance
artist Linda Serafin and illustrator Lisa Padovano assisted in
the production. Marina Dubois wrote the perceptive text that
accompanies the images. The Major Arcana was placed on the 119 Gallery website and
the images were shown in galleries throughout the country.
As the years passed interest in the deck grew. Krause completed the Minor Arcana in 2002, Dubois wrote the interpretation for those cards and in 2004, ten years after the first images were created, the deck was published by Viewpoint Studios. Mary Taylor, as always, gave invaluable assistance in more ways than can be imagined.
